Among the colours on the colour wheel, purple is considered a very flexible hue. It can swim from warm to cool with even just the slightest adjustments on its undertones—increase the red and it becomes dominant and temperate; increase the blue and it becomes serene and calm, mysterious even. And, as always with colour, playing up or down its intensity also creates varied effects to one’s mood and disposition.
