2. Japan’s Don Quijote to open first Southeast Asian store in Singapore. The Japanese discount chain is set to open a store in Orchard Road that will offer cool Japan-themed products. Don Quijote Holdings Co., Ltd opened its first general discount store in 1989. It has since steadily expanded its business and network of stores by developing a unique type of business based on its store concept of providing convenience, discount, and amusement.
