1. Happy birthday, Singapore! To commemorate this special occasion, pay tribute to the evolution of the Singaporean home for the past 50 years in this website. Don’t forget to join our contest, too, where you can win vintage furniture pieces from our partners Nona Singapore Art Deco, Nook and Cranny, Retro Colony, and The Heritage Shop! #MajulahSingapura

2. Villeroy & Boch opens its first flagship store in Asia…in Singapore! It really feels like our birthday because renowned tableware, bath, and kitchen brand Villeroy & Boch has picked Singapore as the location for its first flagship store in Asia. Hie over to the historical Capitol Piazza to check out its spacious, 1,500-square-foot boutique, which opened to the public last July, and enjoy an exquisite viewing experience from the 267-year-old brand.

3. Fill your home with vintage finds, like this Parisian apartment. If you have a collection of objects that are too precious to be sold off or given away, decorate your home with it for a completely unique look. Take your cue from Parisian designer Nicolas Roche, scion of French furniture company Roche Bobois (it’s SG showroom is here), who decked out his apartment with vivid hues and vintage furniture.

4. Looking for smaller couches? This designer satisfies the global demand for small-space seating. Lovers of small-space furniture and Scandinavian design, here’s something to be excited about. Danish furniture brand Normann Copenhagen collaborated with designer Simon Legald for these two-seater sofas included in the brand’s Era lounge collection. Check with Lifestorey if they already carry the collection, or why not shop online? Normann Copenhagen ships worldwide!

5. Baymax (the bed) gives free hugs and cuddles. Loved Big Hero 6? Then you’ll go crazy over this 7-foot-5-inch sofa bed shaped like Baymax, the film’s beloved robot. It’s perfect for lounging in, sleeping in, and cuddling with. It’s sold exclusively here, but you can get a cheaper version of it through here.
