1. TURBO's best-selling ovens at discounted pries

Homemade mooncakes for the Mid-Autumn Festival, anyone? Bake your very own at home with the help of TURBO ovens.

The TFM series is huge, and the ovens’ 65-litre capacity is ideal for baking several batches of mooncakes at the same time. With a capacity of 54 litres, the ovens can be used to cook multiple Mid-Autumn festival classics cookies simultaneously. The TFX6605 comes with five functions and the TFE6608 eight. Both ovens boast a fingerprint-resistant stainless steel finish, and hence are sleek in design. Their turbo fans help to circulate the air, a nifty feature that allows the surfaces of mooncakes and cookies to brown beautifully.

2. Sony launches 3 new 4K HDR home cinema projectors

Sony introduces three new models to further enhance your immersive viewing experience. The new projectors all come with evolved 4K Motionflow enabling smoother and clear motion by adding extra frames to reduce blur and maintain brightness, perfect for fast moving scenes such as sporting events. The three models also offer film buffs spectacular HDR (high dynamic range) images in delicate colour gradation thanks to HDMI 18 Gbps compatibility and 4K 60P 10bit processing. To meet the growing demand for 4K/60p gaming content, users can now enjoy faster response speeds with input lag reduction. This is combined with exclusive Reality Creation that analyses every element of an image to provide enhanced clarity and resolution without noise. The three new models announced are the VPL-VW870ES, VPL-VW570ES, and VPL-VW270ES.

The VPL-VW870ES is Sony’s latest premium 4K laser light source projector that contains a prestigious All Range Crisp Focus (ARC-F) lens, an 18-piece all glass lens that ensures high precision in every corner of the image, yet within a compact and lightweight design. Alongside this, the addition of the "Digital Focus Optimiser" in the VPL-VW870ES provides refined image quality and accurate focus without distortion.

The VPL-VW570ES is the versatile model that comes with enhanced features such as Picture Position Memory to quickly change the settings for ideal format including 16:9 and Cinemascope as well as high dynamic contrast by Advanced Iris. While the VPL-VW270ES brings a breathtaking 4K HDR experience at Sony’s most affordable price point yet, including a new input lag reduction mode for gamers.

3. 10 Entries shortlisted for showcase to celebrating the 50th anniversary of the iconic Sacco Bean Bag in Singapore

W. Atelier and Zanotta are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the iconic Sacco bean bag chair in Singapore with a design showcase supported by the DesignSingapore Council. After an open call for entries, a total of 10 designers have been shortlisted by W. Atelier, Zanotta, and DesignSingapore Council to design and produce their own creative versions of the Sacco chair themed "Urban Living the Asian Way." Each of these 10 designers have now received a Sacco in white finish (fabric VIP 27501) to design while keeping the Sacco chair’s structure and content unchanged.

The shortlisted designers are DAZINGFEELSGOOD, Gabriel Tan of Gabriel Tan Studio, Imran Othman, Jarrod Lim of Jarrod Lim Design, Karyn Lim, Rockett Studio Pte Ltd, Studio Juju, Super Fat Designs, Tiffany Loy, and tizumuka.

4. Kinestral’s Halio smart-tinting glass selected for integration into Katerra smart homes and buildings

Kinestral Technologies announced that its Halio™ smart-tinting glass has been selected for integration into smart homes and buildings by Katerra, a technology company providing end-to-end building services. The partnership will see the integration of Halio into Katerra’s building management systems to provide users with a seamless and intuitive experience while significantly reducing the cost of Halio—it also includes an equity investment by Katerra in Kinestral.

5. Crowds throng JadeScape on first preview weekend, sales launch

Qingjian Realty (South Pacific) Group Pte Ltd (Qingjian Realty) opened the JadeScape Sales Gallery for public preview on 8 September 2018 to large crowds. Close to 9,000 visitors toured the sales gallery by 2pm the next day. JadeScape is Singapore’s first fully-smart, multi-generational residential development. Its sales launch is slated for 22 September 2018.

"We designed JadeScape with a unique offering to complement its outstanding location. We expected the market to welcome the project but the response is overwhelming. We are very encouraged," said Ms Yen Chong, Deputy General Manager, Qingjian Realty (South Pacific) Group Pte Ltd. Visitors to the JadeScape Sales Gallery cited comprehensive smart features at JadeScape as a draw. Homeowners can look forward to facial recognition technology at lift lobbies, an energy-saving air conditioner and hot water heater system that recycles waste heat for warm showers and an integrated dishwasher with ultrasonic produce-washing features. It is also the first to adopt a Smart Estate Management System which will see intelligent estate monitoring throughout the 1,206-unit development.

The JadeScape Sales Gallery beside Bishan MRT station, opposite the Bishan Bus Interchange (entrance via Bishan Place), is now open daily from 10 am to 7 pm. The development is expected to receive Temporary Occupation Permit (TOP) by early-2023.
