1. AkzoNobel announces Colour of the Year 2019

AkzoNobel embraces the sweet life with its Colour of the Year for 2019, Spiced Honey. Perfectly capturing this year’s theme—“Let the light in”—the warm amber tone is a versatile and contemporary choice, complementing a wide variety of lifestyle and interior design preferences. It also expresses the new sense of optimism felt throughout the global trend research which was carried out.

“Today’s reveal of Spiced Honey is another milestone in empowering consumers worldwide to choose paint colors with absolute confidence,” said Heleen van Gent, Creative Director of AkzoNobel’s Global Aesthetic Center. “It’s a color which can be calming or nourishing, stimulating and energizing, depending on the light and colors surrounding it.”

The choice of Spiced Honey has also inspired four harmonious colour palettes: Think, Dream, Love, and Act. 2. EASMED to open the new EASMED Sleep Experience Centre

A new 2,700-sq-ft Sleep Experience Centre—one of the largest Sleep Experience Centres in Southeast Asia for Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) Therapy for Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) patients—will be opened by EASMED, premier medical solution organisation and leading distributor specialising in the fields of ENT, Sleep Medicine, Respiratory Care and Minimally Invasive Surgical Technologies in Asia. This centre runs a state-of-the art simulated environment for Sleep-Disordered Breathing (SDB) patient's therapy. It aims to serve sleep-disordered breathing patients with the best-fit solutions, provide high quality, up-to-date, premium training program for Medical Professionals and raise awareness of SDB and OSA, and the associated health risks through organised health talks and workshops.

The EASMED Sleep Experience Centre also has sleep-test rooms to allow patients to experience various customised fitting to suit their unique conditions and for the best personal comfort, before actual purchase of sleep therapy equipment. EASMED’s team of sleep therapy professionals educate patients on the possible discomfort felt at the initial stage of wearing a mask to sleep and how to minimise such displeasure with proper fitting and usage.

3. Sunday Bedding is Singapore's new bedding brand

Sunday Bedding, a new Singaporean bedding brand, will make its debut online on 9 November. Founded by Alex Fan and Clara Teo, Sunday Bedding aims to bridge the disconnect between individual sleeping habits and the wealth of bedding options available. The sheet sets are designed to create the ideal sleeping environment based on an understanding of sleeping habits and preferences. Sunday Bedding aims to make it easier for consumers to find the perfect set of sheets.

Sunday Bedding will first launch with two types of textiles, cotton sateen and bamboo sateen. Chosen after extensive experimenting, these strike the best balance between comfort, durability, and environmental sustainability to ensure one gets the best sleep possible. Backed by years of experience manufacturing for leading retailers in the US and European markets, co-founder Alex Fan shares, "We believe that direct-to-consumer brands should offer more than just lower price; they should give consumers more options that are customised to their needs. Sunday Bedding will celebrate its launch with a pop-up at S L O W H O U S E from 10 to 11 November.
