Treat mum like the queen that she is on Mother's Day. The easiest way to make her smile? Prettify your home so it becomes the perfect place to celebrate this special day.

Here are some suggestions:

1. A balloon garland provides a splash of colours to a room. Instead of placing balloons randomly in your home, try creating a balloon garland by grouping small and big balloons. Simply tape them to the wall or let them form an arch. To create a more festive feel, use a variety of bright colours. You can also opt to use just mum's favourite hues.

2. Reminisce good ol’ times with a photo garland. If balloons are not your thing, you can consider hanging a photo garland. It’s one great way to bring good family memories back which your mom will surely appreciate. Simply print your favourite photos of mum, paste it on a decorative paper, leave some borders, and sew as many photos as you want.

3. Prettify the dining table. How many times did mum aspire to have a beautifully-set table? This is your chance to achieve it for her. Start by dressing up the table with a simple yet classy tablecloth. A printed linen fabric will also do. Decorate with pretty flower centrepieces and for a more personalized feel, print place cards for each guest—even if it’s just the whole family around!. Using colourful plates will also add a touch of prettiness to the table. For your mom, have a special set designed only for her by using a table napkin with her name or a greeting on it.

4. Add excitement with a banner. What better way to say “Happy Mother’s Day!” than with a banner? You can also be more creative with other messages such as “Mum, you’re the best!”

5. Say it with flowers. Turn your home into a vibrant space by filling it with flower decors placed in pots, vases, cans, or even bottles. Or create a hanging bouquet by turning decorative papers into cones filled with flowers. Put the cone in a cup or bottle and hang them on a chair or a window. You can also a bit of drama by including customized cards for Mom.

6. Create your own paper flowers. Aside from having real flowers, creating your own surely adds up to the fun. Prepare tissue paper in different colours and turn them into flowers you can tape to the wall or turn them into a paper flower garland which you can drape over each chair. Check this for instructions.
