Cafés have become more than a place to just grab your morning caffeine fix, enjoy afternoon tea, or satisfy late-night sugar and carb cravings. When the interiors look as inviting as the menu, these java joints also become great design destinations—and inspirations.

A neighbourhood gem on Tiong Poh Road, Drips Bakery Café has been luring people into its doors since 2011 with its aromatic coffee and tea, and its delicious selection of sweet treats. But the café's interiors are also worth a look. Drips Bakery Café partners Jessica Tan and Alfred Chan (a former chef at a Shangri-La hotel) made sure the shop has the perfect blend of sumptuous food and cosy, homey interiors.

"We came up with the interior design as we both loved the concept of the white brick look and skylight in many of the cafés in London," explains Jessica. "Our design is very much inspired by our stay in that city. We are proud of our white brick wall feature, especially when we realised a lot of other cafés in Tiong Bahru started copying that look."

In Singapore where space is premium, Drips Bakery Café also allows its customers to enjoy the leisure of moving around without bumping into the person on the next table.

Drips Bakery Café's uber chic white interior makes it a charming respite where you can while away the time. Here are some more design elements we love about the café:

delicious cakes and fruit tarts at Drips Bakery Cafe

Drips Bakery Café is known for its delish desserts (read: fruitilicious cakes and scrumptious tarts). The shop does a great job of displaying them to whet your appetite. If you come here for your caffeine boost, you might as well give in to the temptation of delectable delights displayed right beside the counter.

The shelves neatly display the store's takeaway treats, luring customers to bring home a slice of Drips Bakery & Café. Those in a hurry can easily find pesto sauces, breads and cookies, and homemade jams from the clean and orderly display.

Drips Bakery Café proves that white can be cosy and warm. Its brick white wall acts like a blank canvas, highlighting all other (colourful) elements in the shop. The hanging lamps and exposed wires add a casual and relaxed feel to the space, emphasising the cafe's homey appeal.

Grab a spot in any of the designer tables, stools, and benches. Jessica shares that these furniture pieces are specially designed by their Thai friend. Want to bring these beauties home? Hover over to Catalogue and order them through Cromly!

The walkway of the café reminds us of alleys and passages in London—exactly what Jessica and Alfred were going for in an attempt to recreate the iconic city in their design.
