Organising Tips For Your Makeup Collection

Organising your beauty products is no simple task. Everyone has different collection sizes and storage spaces so there is no one-size-fits-all approach to keeping it tidy. However, there are ways on how to make the mess more manageable. Whether your beauty products are tucked away in a bin, out on full display, or scattered across your bathroom counter, there is still hope to cut down clutter in your home.

Here are ways how you can organise your makeup collection:

1. Create a list.

This part is essential most especially if you run a gamut of a collection. You might have dozens of brushes and foundations—even backups of your favourite palette—and it is no surprise if you’ve forgotten about them. What you need to do is to make a list of what you have and take note of the expiration dates. Every time you buy something new, put it on that list.

2. Throw away the expired ones.

Sure you won’t die if you use your expired blush on, but you certainly might break out. Prevent beauty nightmares from happening by throwing away your expired makeup. If you don’t know where to look, that open jar symbol on all your makeup items means how long the product is good after you first open the package. Even if you just opened the product to swatch it, gross organisms like bacteria and germs will start to harbour inside your favourite products.

3. Get yourself a clear storage.

See everything that you have by putting your makeup collection in a clear storage box. Acrylic storage is the most practical choice for makeup lovers as it is affordable and durable.

4. Don’t forget to sort it by category.

Even if you have an acrylic drawer, there is still a huge tendency for clutter to overwhelm you. Try organising your collection by categories: bronzers, highlighters, brushes, eyeshadow palettes, to lipsticks. Use post-it notes or makers to label each drawer so that you can easily find your favourite gloss in the morning.

5. Keep your daily essentials in an accessible area.

Maybe it’s hard for you to admit but having too many makeups can be quite overwhelming. So if you don’t want to be late every morning, keep all your essentials within arm's reach. Store extra items in drawers but don’t forget where you’ve placed them.

6. Use bead cases for smaller items.

Falsies, gel liner pots, vials, and samples can create clutter on your counter if you don’t properly store them. To keep these little things from creating a huge mess, you can use bead cases to store your small beauty essentials.
