1. Dyson introduces the Dyson Airwrap™ styler

It looks like Dyson doesn't plan to stop innovating. It recently unveiled its second piece of beauty technology: the Dyson Airwrap™ styler, which uses jets of air to allow you to achieve voluminous curls, natural waves, and smooth blow-dry finishes—at home!

The new product features the Coanda effect, which occurs when a high-speed jet of air flows across a surface and, due to differences in pressure, the air flow attaches itself to the surface. “We have been obsessively manipulating airflow for more than 25 years. It is one of our core expertise. Harnessing the power of Dyson’s digital motor we have engineered a truly unique styling tool preventing extreme heat damage when styling. I’m immensely proud of what our engineers have achieved,” said James Dyson, founder and inventor.

Created by an in-house team of experts, the Dyson digital motor V9 powers the Dyson Airwrap™ styler. Partnered with Dyson’s unique styling barrels this motor enables the Dyson Airwrap™ styler to style with air, without the need for extreme heat. The motor spins to create an area of high pressure at the top of the styling barrel. A high velocity jet of air disperses out of six air slots around the barrel. This generates a physical phenomenon known as the Coanda effect which allows the hair to curl around the barrel to style. The machine’s styling brushes are also engineered to take advantage of the Coanda effect. To achieve a sleek blow dry finish, the brushes align hair when styling, helping to provide a smooth shiny finish when dry.

2. IUIGA unveils mother and baby line

E-commerce lifestyle brand IUIGA continues to celebrate fine living and reminds everyone—especially moms—that good quality has to come at an exorbitant price. It recently introduced their mother and baby line targeted at young parents who lament the hefty cost of baby products.

According to Jaslyn Chan, co-founder of IUIGA, many baby products come with high mark ups because manufacturers know that parents, especially new ones, are willing to splurge as they associate pricy items with good quality and therefore better care for their baby. However, through their unique sourcing method, IUIGA is able to skip all the unnecessary middlemen mark ups to obtain products directly from brand manufacturers. With this, the brand is able to lower the retail price of its mother and baby products by almost 50 to 80% compared to existing market players and baby fairs. With an emphasis on honest and transparent pricing, IUIGA solves new parents’ largest struggle—exorbitant spending.

Besides mother and baby products, consumers can also purchase products across categories such as Home & Living, Beauty, Kitchenware and Travel. To keep things fresh, customers can look forward to new product launches every week such as kitchenware, wardrobe storage and comfy apparel for everyday wear. To bring IUIGA products closer to its customers, the brand will celebrate its first retail store opening at Causeway Point in November 2018. This will mark the first of five planned for the coming year.

3. igloohome launches the world’s most versatile Smart Padlock

igloohome today introduced its Smart Padlock, a versatile, remotely-managed security solution that provides owners with convenient access control to their properties and assets. Featuring an innovative PIN code technology that allows owners to grant remote access without users needing to download an app, the igloohome Smart Padlock is the perfect security tool for granting time-sensitive access.

With the igloohome Smart Padlock, property owners can grant access to their homes, yards, facilities, etc. to guests, handymen, or others via two unique options: PIN codes or Bluetooth keys. With PIN codes, there is no need to download an app to receive time-sensitive access codes. Instead, they can be sent over any communication mode such as text, email, or Facebook Messenger. Once received, the user simply keys the PIN code on the padlock—no downloads or registration required. PIN codes can work immediately (select when to start and also to expire), even though the Padlock is not connected to the internet and without the need for the owner to be within proximity of the Padlock.

As an alternative to PIN codes, Bluetooth keys (via smartphone) are also an option to unlock the igloohome Smart Padlock, when users are within proximity of it. After receiving a Bluetooth key from the owner, users can tap "unlock" on the app before unshackling it. Know more about it here.

4. Paul Andrew dresses up the iconic Salvatore Ferragamo fragrances for a Limited Edition Holiday Collection
