These video games allow you to build and design a virtual "home"—a nice practice as you plan what to do and not to do in your very own home.

1. Home Design Story
Available on your mobile devices, this app is a simple interior design game where you have to earn coins to purchase furniture. You start with two empty rooms and you can purchase virtual items from the market. To increase your coins, you can interact with other home designers or complete tasks such as having a sleepover.

3. The Sims franchise
The Sims is a life simulation sandbox game whereby you create virtual people called “Sims” and direct their lives. Before you start designing your homes, you need to understand your Sim’s character and needs. There are online users who use this game to sketch out their real home design.

3. Fallout 4
The Fallout series is an open world role-playing video game set in a post-apocalyptic and retro-futuristic setting. You are tasked to save other dwellers and have to build rooms to keep them alive physically, mentally, and emotionally. On top of that, you have to complete various quests, help other factions, and fight enemies such as super mutants.

4. Harvest Moon 3D: A New Beginning
Unlike Farmville where you are purely focused on planting crops, this Nintendo franchise is a farm simulation role-playing game where you have to restore and maintain a farm according to the in-game weather, disasters and seasons, get married, attend virtual festivals, and complete side quests.

5. The Elders Scrolls V
If you fancy living in a fantasy world where you have to complete quests and defeat a dragon, The Elders Scrolls is the perfect game for you to immerse in. Throughout the game, you can choose to upgrade your house and decorate your house with the help of the steward.

6. City of Heroes
It is one of those rare massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMOPRG) that allows you to customise an interior. You can start the game as either a super-powered hero or villain, and build an operation base for your mission together with other players.

7. Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer
In this game, you are an employee of Nook’s Homes and tasked to design homes for other anthropomorphic characters living in the village nearby.

8. Second Life
Free and available online, this massive online world is designed for players above 16 where they can interact with other players, explore the world, participate in individual and group activities, and create virtual property and services for exchange.
